Tandoori Chai Recipe
Discover the authentic Tandoori Chai recipe, a traditional Pakistani tea with a unique smoky flavor, perfect for tea enthusiasts seeking a cultural delight.
Ingredients
- Water - 1 cup
- Milk - 1 cup full cream for richer taste
- Black Tea Leaves - 1½ teaspoons
- Sugar - 2 teaspoons adjust to taste
- Cardamom Pods - 2 crushed
- Ginger - ½ inch piece crushed, optional for added spice
- Cinnamon Stick - 1 small piece optional for added aroma
Instructions
- Preheat the Clay Pot: Place the clay pot in the tandoor or over the gas burner, heating it until red hot.
- Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Add Tea Leaves & Spices: Add the black tea leaves, crushed cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon to the boiling water. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Add Milk and Sugar: Pour in 1 cup of milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar, and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Strain the Tea: Use a tea strainer to strain the brewed tea into a separate container.
- Pour into the Hot Clay Pot: Carefully pour the strained tea into the preheated clay pot. It will sizzle and acquire a smoky flavor.
- Serve Immediately: Pour the smoky tea into cups and serve hot for the best experience.
